CASE STUDY: YES

YES (“Yorkshire Entertainment Sensation”) is a major leisure destination planned for a former open-cast colliery site in Rotherham, South Yorkshire. Designed by leading architects CZWG / Holder Mathias, it will include a theatre, cinema, indoor entertainment centre, themed visitor attraction, exhibition and convention centre, hotel, spa, golf driving range and outdoor extreme sports centre. An Outline Planning Application for the scheme was submitted in early 2005.

DTP undertook strategic consultation and lobbying on behalf of the developer, prepared a statement on the socio-economic and tourism impact of the scheme as part of the Environmental Impact Assessment submitted with the planning application, and devised a regeneration strategy to maximise the economic benefits of the scheme for the South Yorkshire region.
