DEVELOPMENT STRUCTURING
CASE STUDY: SIVERTOWN QUAYS

This is a unique public/private regeneration project that has been driven by DTP, working with a consortium including Kajima Urban Development and master planners Urban Strategies to unlock the potential of 68 acres of brownfield land adjacent to the River Thames in east London, for a mixed development. The project is a partnership with the London Development Agency.

The scheme will result in the development of 4,900 homes, 0.5 million sq ft of leisure and retail in a high quality waterside setting that involves the animation of 15 acres of water and the development of one of the largest aquariums in the world.

An innovative funding structure that has resulted in the co-ordination of 19 separate legal agreements has enabled the financing of the scheme to be undertaken 100% by the private sector with development capital provided by HBOS.

CASE STUDY: SOUTHEND - SEASIDE TOWN EXPANSION SCHEME

DTP provided initial development advice to Iceni / Colonnade from September 2005 on the development of a scheme for 10,000 houses and 20,000 jobs as a major extension of Southend. This is part of comprehensive set of proposals being developed by a multidisciplinary team in partnership with the Southend Borough Council and other stakeholders. DTP are concentrating on taking the economic analysis and understanding of key economic projects to generate the employment and business based projects. This involves developing a strategy linking the development of a resort, generating a cultural quarter and business development based on inward investment and supporting indigenous SME growth.
