CASE STUDY: ICON CENTRE

DTP prepared a business plan and secured capital funding for the development of a new £20 million ICT sector based HE/FE facility incorporating research laboratories, business incubators, a new technology institute and a learning centre. The Icon Centre is the centrepiece of Central Park which is a flagship business park project for the New East Manchester URC.

The project involves a partnership of HE and FE institutions in Manchester and the private sector and is fundamental to the delivery of sustainable training and employment opportunities in the East Manchester area. The capital funding comes from a cocktail of UK and European sources including the DTI, HEFCE, ERDF and DFES as well as private sector investment.
