CASE STUDY: WOMENS' EURO 2005
Building on the experience of the Commonwealth Games 2002, Sport
England and the FA funded a legacy programme to maximise the sport
and wider social benefits of Euro 2005. Managed by dtparticip8,
active participation was focal to the programme, addressing areas
such as health and well being, social inclusion and equity, all
key social issues for women and girls. Maximum use was made of
the association with a major sports event featuring successful
women; role models portraying achievement and providing inspiration
to succeed, often in the face of adversity.
